CitySwitch Newcastle . Workshop Participant, 2010.
CitySwitch is an international workshop framework created by Satoru Yamashiro (buildinglandscape) and Joanne Jakovich (UTS). For this version of the workshop, CitySwitch teamed up with Renew Newcastle to run the event.
The intensive workshop ran for 5 days, bringing together architects, designers, planners and thinkers to collaborate on urban revitalisation and catalytic interventions. There were four teams each led by Japanese architects and artists.
Our team created this video proposal and hence engaged in such urban performances. It was presented to a public forum along with the other teams' projects. These included a wind installation, a tea room and a flash mob. At the end of this workshop, Satoru Yamashiro invited me to complete an internship at his studio in Tokyo which I accepted.
